Superwoman catches up: Jessica Korda reels in Anna Nordqvist in Alabama

The American, 21, sewed up her second LPGA Tour title of 2014, after carding a final-round seven-under 65 at the RTJ Golf Trail in Mobile.

Korda pipped Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist – the overnight leader – by one stroke, finishing on 20-under overall.

Nordqvist shot a three-under 69 to continue her consistent week but was pipped at the post by a fast-finishing Korda.

Michelle Wie also produced a strong final round, hitting a five-under 67 to finish tied for third on 18 under – level with England’s Charley Hull and Scotland’s Catriona Matthew.

South Korea’s Jenny Shin (17 under) was outright sixth after a final-day 67, while American Lexi Thompson, England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff and South Korean Ji Eun-Hee were a stroke further back at 16 under.

Rounding out the top-10 were quartet Brittany Lincicome, Belen Mozo, Ryu So Yeon and Stacy Lewis.

Lewis – leader of the tour’s Race to the CME Globe, a season-long points based competition – could not capitalise on third place heading into the final 18 holes, ending her week with a one-under 71.
