KNUST Boys Fight …Over NDC Cash

In what unfolded as a well-choreographed thievery plot by some faceless student executives of the Tertiary Education and Institutions Network (TEIN), current TEIN president, Fatau Abubakar could not hold back but to weep uncontrollably before journalists to express his disappointment about the loss of about 500GH cedis donated to them by their youth organizer Ludwig Hlodze.

Fatau Abubakar, the new TEIN president right after a highly successful program where he had taken over the reins of leadership from the outgoing executives was shocked to the marrow when he realized that monies the party’s National Youth Organizer had given to them during an appeal for funds had been stolen right at the program grounds.

TEIN, the student wing of the ruling National Democratic Congress, has been very vibrant at the KNUST campus and therefore the latest shameless act seemed to have deflated the confidence of some of the students who for the first time came to the handing over ceremony at the botanical gardens site.

Speaking to yours truly and a few media colleagues at the precincts of the program grounds near the botanical gardens, Fatau Abubakar expressed disgust at the behavior of his fellow NDC colleagues.

He therefore cursed the behavior of both the old and new guys since he could not fish out who was responsible or took the money that had been voluntarily given to them by their youth organizer for field work.

The TEIN president visibly shaken at the turn of things lamented how they, through their meager funds, had struggled to put such an elaborate and time consuming program together just for a traitor to swindle them of funds they could have used for field work as incoming executives.

The unfortunate act, according to Master Abubakar occurred immediately after seeing off high profile dignitaries who graced the occasion which included the immediate past Ghana’s High Commissioner to the US, Ambassador Ohene Agyekum, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, Minister for Tourism, Henry Ekow Manly-Spain, aspiring Greater Accra Regional Chairman and Ludwig Hlodze, the National Youth Organizer as well as Kwaku Boahen a.k.a ‘enjoy’, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer.

Having been charged earlier on by Ambassador Ohene Agyekum and Elibabeth Ofosu-Agyare and Ludwig Hlodze to be selfless and courageous in both academic and party work, the missing money became the topical issue which nearly generated fisticuffs.

Both old and new executives had disregarded the advice by Henry Manly-Spin to stay united as they confronted each other for the missing money and succeeded in turning eth premises to a boxing ring with each one pointing an accusing finger at each other.

As at 6:00 PM when yours truly was leaving the embarrassing scene last Saturday, TEIN members were at each other’s throat and not even the appeal for calm by their patron Mr. Johnny Osei Kofi could avert the unfolding scary debacle.

Sources later informed GO that calm was later restored when some elders of the party as well as Kwaku Boahene, the regional youth organizer called to intervene even though the monies were not found on any member.
