USA: unselected for the World Cup, Donovan is disappointed

Reducing his 30-man initial group to 23, Jurgen Klismann did not retain veteran Landon Donovan for his fourth participation in the finals of the World Cup.

The attacker of the team with the stars stripes expressed himself on his Facebook page.

‘To my fans, it was an honor and a privilege to represent the United States in three World Cups. I wanted to play in Brazil and, as you can imagine, I am very disappointed by today’s decision. Nevertheless, I’ll support my friends and teammates this summer and I remain committed to the development of soccer in the USA in the coming years.’
