Transfer news: Lions forward Isaac Osae on Kotoko’s radar

The assistant coach of the Porcupine Warriors, Michael Osei has expressed that the weakest department in the club is their attack and believes, the Heart of Lions forward would fit into the scheme of things of the club.

Most stakeholders of the league champions are of the view that Isaac Osae is the solution to their attacking problem. Although Seidu Bancey have had an impressive season with 12 premier league goals as the joint leading scorer in the Ghana Premier League, but most of his goals were scored in the first round of the league and has been struggling without Yahaya Mohammed.

Kotoko in the first round of the league had a good striking partnership between Bancey and Yahaya Mohammed, which enabled the former to bang in more goals, but following the suspension of the latter for going AWOL to sign a pre-contract with AL-Ittihad Tripoli, the league champions have been struggling in front of goal.

‘I know the area that Kotoko needs to strengthen is our attack and after monitoring the league throughout the season, I think Isaac Osae of Heart of Lions could help us, he told Metro fm.

Michael Akuffu, the skipper of the Porcupine Warriors backed his assistant coach by saying that if there is any attacker, he would have to recommend for the club, then it is definitely going to be Osae.

‘After playing against so many strikers this season,  I think that the Heart of Lions light-skinned striker who scored against us at Kpando could be of help to us, said the skipper ‘

Kwabena Adusei, the ever dependable defender for Asante Kotoko added his voice to those who think that Kotoko should settle on Osae in attack.

‘The striker who gave me tough time in the course of the season was the light-skinned Heart of Lions striker,” he said.

Osae was the tormentor-in-chief against the Porcupine Warriors and completely shattered their defence in a game that ended 2-0 in favour of the Kpando lads. His attacking play was too much for the Kotoko defence to match as he scored the opening goal with a perfect touch.

Asante Kotoko won the premier league for three consecutive seasons to win the Ghana league for a record of 23 times in a grand style by beating New Edubiase for the very first time at Bekwai on Wednesday with two matches to spare.
