Leave them alone: Asamoah Gyan defends absent Essien and Boateng

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has made a passionate defense of team mates Michael Essien and Kevin Prince Boateng after they absented themselves from the team’s camp in Accra.

The two players requested to be excused from the first part of camp to attend to personal issues,a situation that has led to criticism from fans.

Gyan  in an interview with Allsports.com.gh  is of the opinion that his team mates had good reason to be away.

“They had a tangible reason and that is between them and the technical staff. They are my colleagues and I do understand them.I think we are going to meet them in Holland in 3 days. The reasons they gave are tangible for me.

The Black Stars will depart for Holland on Saturday,24 May.
