Will he move? Besiktas make offer for Essien

It was just in January that Michael Essien arrived in Milan, but he could be on his way out this summer.

Turkish giants Besiktas have reportedly made an offer for the combative 31-year-old.

According to  Rai Sport’s TV show Zona 11 , the 13-time Turkish champions, coached by Croat Slaven Bilic, are ready to offer Essien a juicy three-year contract laced with a €4 million annual wage.

However, the report adds, Besiktas are not ready to pay a fee for Essien, as they want to acquire him the same way Milan did : on a free. It is therefore now all up to  The ‘Bison’  to make a decision on his future.

Essien, who has won many trophies spanning spells at Bastia, Lyon, Chelsea Real Madrid, is widely believed to be in the twilight of his career, with a series of injuries slowing his game in recent years.

The 2006 BBC African Footballer of the Year is however expected to be in Brazil for the World Cup with Ghana next month, four years after missing the last edition in South Africa due to an injury.
