Pray for us: John Boye rallies support of Ghanaians

By Prince Dornu-Leiku
John Boye is fired and ready to rumble when he makes his World Cup debut in Brazil within a month and is asking the prayers of his countrymen for the Black Stars as they prepare to leave the country on Saturday for Holland.

‘They should pray for us and we know that we are going to Brazil to make them happy and proud so they should just pray for us,’ Boye told Allsports.com.gh exclusively at the Accra Sports Satdium after Wednesday’s training.

The Rennes defender also appreciates the call-up to duty for the Black Stars and has declared unceasing willingness to give his all in defence of the Ghana flag.

‘I feel okay, everything is fine with me because being in the national team is very important for every player. I am okay, I feel better and always happy when I am called,’ Boye said.

‘It’s a very big challenge because if you are not playing well to the coach’s satisfaction, he will not allow you to play,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Captain Asamoah Gyan has also backed John Boye’s call for prayers from Ghanaians.

‘They should pray for us. Now everybody is enjoying the time in camp, there is no injury, that’s the most important thing,’ Gyan appealed.
