Mas-Ud Dramani says his appetite for success at Asante Kotoko was fuelled by doubts from supporters over his capability to coach the side.

The former national team coach has guided the side to a successful defence of their Premier League crown following a 2-1 win over New Edubiase on Wednesday.

Kotoko have now won three consecutive Premier League titles and will be returning to the CAF Champions League as champions of Ghana once more again.

Dramani was appointed two seasons ago to succeed Maxwell Konadu who was a hugely popular figure with the supporters.

His inexperience managing a top flight side prior to his appointment as coach of Kotoko meant the club was taking a big risk on him.

Dramani has now bettered Konadu’s record during his two year stay at the club and reveals the several doubts over his ability was key in his determination to excel.

‘Last year I heard from the stands that ‘this guy cannot coach Kotoko’,’ he told Metro FM.

‘This encouraged me and filled my thoughts always to try and do something positive for the club.

‘And in yesterday’s game, a fan came to me saying ‘ we should try and win this game for him’ and we did.

‘We are always trying to do our best for the club.’

Dramani could make history at Kotoko by guiding the side to win the FA Cup competition which will see the Porcupine Warriors win an unprecedented double in a season.
