Hearts coach Mohammed Polo targets Kotoko win in Ghana league derby

By Rahman Osman
Hearts coach Mohammed Polo has turned attention to beating perennial rivals Asante Kotoko in their next league match after edging Inter Allies on Wednesday in Accra.

The Phobians will form the guard of honour for Kotoko who were crowned champions for a third consecutive time with two matches to spare following a 2-1 win at New Edubiase in midweek.

Hearts are now in contention to finish second and book the final CAF Champions League spot.

But that will require them winning all two matches to overtake second place Heart of Lions who are three points richer.

Polo, who has failed to convince the Hearts faithful since replacing David Duncan, is predicting victory at the Baba Yara Stadium.

‘The game against Kotoko will be a tough one but we are confident of beating them,’ Polo said.

‘We are working everyday to improve the team’s results and I am sure against Kotoko we will come alive.’

Hearts lost the corresponding fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium by a slender 1-0 defeat through a Siedu Bansey strike.
