Dump Refuse In Front Of Parliament, Flagstaff House, AMA, etc…So They Address Our Environmental Concerns

NPP stalwart, Kwabena Sarpong has flayed government over its failure to arrest the environmental challenges facing Ghanaians.

Speaking on Oman FM, Kwabena Sarpong called on President John Dramani Mahama to remit the government’s debt to the waste management organizations in the country.

For several months now, waste management organizations have failed to collect refuse which has since become the bane of the Ghanaian citizenry.

Mayor of Accra, Alfred Vanderpuiye has revealed that the residents living in Ghana’s capital city may have to endure the poor waste management system in the nation due to the lack of landfill sites and apparently the inability of government to defray its cost to the waste management organizations.

Adding his voice to the numerous calls on the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to ensure that the refuse collection companies step up their game, the NPP stalwart blamed government for current environmental challenges facing the country.

According to him, until government wakes up to the public calls, the sanitation situation will keep deteriorating.

Suggesting ways to resolve the situation, Kwabena Sarpong urged the refuse collection companies to adopt a radical approach to address their concerns.

“He’s (President Mahama) not feeling it…We must go to the Ministries and then dump the refuse. We must go to Parliament and then dump the refuse there. Then go to the Flagstaff House and dump the garbage. Also, dump the refuse at AMA and their offices. If we keep grumbling about something that is supposed to be done and you refuse to heed it, you need a radical solution and that is the one thing that can let people sit up…

“You can’t blame the organization. The blame must squarely be placed on government’s shoulders,” he said.
