Courtrooms Flooded

It was a sorry sight at the 28 February Road Courts popularly known as Cocoa Affairs following yesterday’s early morning heavy downpour.

Some courtrooms were heavily flooded due to the dilapidated nature of facilities there, making work difficult for some of the judges.

The hardest hit was Circuit Court Five where the judge was compelled to hear some of the cases in her chamber.

The downpour which left in its trail a very soaked ceiling also ripped off part of the roofing of the Gender Violence Based Court presided over by Sedinam Agbemava.

Prosecutors, accused persons and court staff had to tiptoe to and fro some of the courtrooms.

The gadgets in the courtroom including computers as well as files of the court were not spared the wreckage of the Wednesday rainfall.

As at midday yesterday the usually busy court had virtually been deserted.

At Circuit Court One, where a lot of criminal cases are heard, the roofs leaked badly.
