NDC Government Never Takes Advice—Kwabena Agyepong

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwabena Agyepong, has questioned the sudden turn by government to invite the NPP to the National Economic Forum after NPP officials had been lampooned for expressing their opinions on major economic issues.

He wondered why the same government officials seek advice from the same people they had insulted when they were advised.

‘People like Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Osarfo Marfo and the minority in parliament were attacked and insulted when they seek to advice government on the economy. So today what has changed that they want our opinion on the economy? We have already told them,’ he said.

Mr. Kwabena Agyepong was speaking on a current affairs radio programme on matters arising after the NEF.

The National Economic Forum was aimed at achieving consensus on policies, strategies and measures to Ghana’s transition from a lower middle income nation to an upper middle income economy.

The forum also engaged various stakeholders from political parties, civil society, private sector and many more to tackle the country’s economic difficulties through brainstorming.
