Free Diplomatic Passports …For NDC Serial Callers, Foot-Soldiers

Information gathered by Today indicates that the Mahama-led administration is dashing out diplomatic passports to party members.

Foot-soldiers, serial callers and other lesser party stalwarts, the paper discovered are those who are benefiting from this package.

The reason, the paper’s sources indicated, is to appease the ‘hard working’ grassroots, many of whom are angry with their leaders, for promoting the party and government in the face of the dwindling image of the party and its leader, John Dramani Mahama.

The NDC government, Today was further told, is also doing so to encourage the vociferous propagandists who contribute to discussions on radio and television stations.

The issuing of the diplomatic passports to party members comes as a surprise to many, especially as the NDC jabbed the erstwhile Kufuor administration for doing same during their administration.

However, barely one-and-a-half years into the Mahama administration, the NDC government has been found guilty of the same crime for which it fought the previous government.

According to the laws of the land, ambassadors, officials of the ministry of foreign affairs, and distinguished personalities in the country are entitled to diplomatic passports.

Hence, it is surprising that ‘laymen’ within the NDC, would be given such a passport, the sources expressed.
