Accidentally on purpose: Eto’o calls Mourinho a puppet after ‘fool’ jibe

Chelsea player Samuel Eto’o has hit out at Jose Mourinho again for branding him an old man. The Portuguese and former Real Madrid coach suggested in a private conversation in March that Eto’o might be older than his claimed age.

The 33-year-old called his manager a fool last week in Ivory Coast and has repeated a similar rant this week. In an interview with cafonline.com, Samuel Eto’o said when asked about the true nature of the relationship between him and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho:

‘Contrary to what a puppet says about my age, I am still physically fit. At 33, I feel real good. I have proven that I could do better than youths.

‘And I wish to also say that I am not going to the United States or to the Middle East. I will continue at the top level. I will continue to play the Champions League. My romance with this competition is far from over. I will not tell you where, but I will be at the top level.

‘I am 33 and I have two World Cups to play. Before me there are other players who went on until the age of 41. So I can continue.’

Samuel Eto’o’s contract with Chelsea expires next month and it is unclear whether the Cameroonian will stay at Chelsea. From his recent outbursts about the Chelsea boss, move away from Stamford Bridge might be on the cards.
