Second Lady stresses government’s commitment to support local industry


As part of her resolve to encourage the sustainability of the local industry, wife of the Vice President, Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur,  has taken a day’s working visit to Chocho Industries, producers of Chocho range of products.

The visit was to encourage top level management and staff of the company to work towards supporting the local economy.

The second lady expressed government’s commitment and support to the local industry.

”We as a government is committed to providing you with support and to encourage the local businesses to produce more towards the sustainability of our local economy. Indeed your work is highly recognized by the government so I entreat you not to be swayed by the few challenges confronting the local businesses”, she said.

Chocho Industries are producers of Chocho creams, hair fertilizer, Chocho tea, Chocho hand and foot cream, Chocho balm among others.

Mrs.Amissah-Arthur also recognized the contributions of the local industry in providing employment to reduce the burden on government.

”We highly appreciate the immense contributions you are doing in terms of providing employment to millions of people. But for your existence one cannot imagine the pressure on government”.

Alhaji Mustapha Oti Boateng, CEO of the company appealed to the government to fix the current power outages confronting the nation.

”We should be producing enough for the market but this light-off thing is affecting our business. We call on you to find a solution to the problem so we can produce enough for the market”, he appealed.

Alhaji Mustapha Boateng also appreciated the decision of the Second Lady to visit the company and to inspire them to work towards the sustainability of the local economy.

The Second Lady also took the opportunity to donate medical equipments to the Suhum government hospital.
