Fulham misfit Derek Boateng is all set to exit the Craven Cottage with Charlton Athletics and Watford reportedly interested but the Ghana international could return to Sweden.

The 31-year-old was spotted in Sweden last week as he sat in the stands at the Friends Arena to watch his former club AIK Solna in action against Mjällby.

Boateng, who joined Fulham before the start of the season from Ukrainian side FC Dnipro, reportedly met with AIK officials after and had chats with Ghanaian internationals who play at AIK and Mjällby though he did not confirm his return to the players.

GHANAsoccernet.com sources in Sweden have confirmed AIK are interested in signing the former Getafe midfielder who made 55 appearances at the club between 2003 and 2006 and scored more than 6 times.

However, they must reach an agreement with Fulham who would also consider other offers from clubs interested in signing him.

Watford’s interest in the midfielder has appreciably diminished after they failed to sign him in the winter transfer window but Charlton have maintained their interest and would ask Fulham to sell the midfielder to them.

Boateng started just twice for Fulham who are relegated from the English top-flight in the 2013/14 season.
