Former Presby moderator to launch book

The immediate past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Very Rev. Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, will launch his new book entitled, “Tell the Nation” on May 18, 2014 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

The book is a compilation of letters, addresses and speeches delivered by the author, who is currently the resident pastor of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Reformed Church in Bronx, New York in the USA, during his tenure as the moderator of the PCG.

The new book focuses on issues of national and international importance and cover a large spectrum of issues, including education, governance, the national economy, peace, crime and socio-political topics, as well as religious matters which require the attention of both the church and the state, as veritable partners in development and nation building.

“Tell the Nation” also looks at the debate of whether or not the church should stay completely away from the areas of spirituality and temporality.

The 316-page book contains topics such as “Let us rise and build”, “Greatness is in servanthood”, “Justice for Ghanaian immigrants in USA”, “Democratic dispensation in Christ and effective leadership”, and “The permanency and sanctity of marriage”, among other relevant issues pertaining to the enhancement of the country.

Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include the Finance Minister, Mr Seth Terkper, Mr Lawrence Tetteh of the World Miracle Outreach, Dr Robertson of Oral Roberts and leading figures from political and religious institutions in the country.

Proceeds from the function, which is being put together by the Frimpong-Manso Foundation, would be used to cater for the welfare needs of retired members of the church in Ghana.

The entire Ghanian populace, particularly the Christian community, is urged to attend and also commit the event into prayer to ensure its success.
