Second Lady Calls On Ghanaians To Nurture The Spirit Of Giving In The Area Of Health Care Delivery

The Second lady Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur on Thursday advised Ghanaians and patients to nurture the spirit of giving for the socio-economic development in the country’s health care sector.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur gave the advice when she presented essential hospital items to the Suhum General Hospital in the Eastern Region in line with her commitment to improve health service delivery in the country.

Already the Second Lady in line with her commitment to improve health care service delivery oh her own have donated to HIV patients in Koforidua, Donated towards a hospice project in koforidua, donated to the Cape Coast hospital, Sogakope Hospital, Eikwe Catholic Hospital, Taifa Polyclinic, Newtown Health Centre in the Ellembelle and Jomoro Districts of the Western Region.

The items donated at the Suhum hospital included hospital beds, mattresses, hoists, rollators, wheel chairs, walking racks, auxiliary crutches, seat pillows, blankets and hospital uniforms swivel chairs , glove Zimmer frames ,waste bins ,syringes and crane examination lights.

The second lady who personally donated the items said it was intended to complement government’s effort to provide quality health care to the people.and that the gesture was to compliment the efforts of the government because they cannot do everything alone, so the need to help and put smiles on the faces of the people, especially the less privileged in society.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur, urged the Health Ministry to implement policies that would improve efficient service delivery and ethical conduct in the country’s health facilities and tae care of the equipment s that she has brought to them .and entreated the Ministry of Health to implement policies and decisions that will allow for improved and efficient service delivery and ethical conduct in our hospitals,

The second Lady urged the management of the two health care facilities to endeavour to provide patients with good quality care, adding, “I believe that the items presented would benefit patients.”

As part of her activities the Second Lady, Matilda Amissah Arthur paid a courtesy call on the chief of Suhum Osabarima Ayeh Kofi I to pay homage and also visited Chocho Industries in Suhum to acquaint herself with the work of Chocho herbal centre, one of the leading herbal industries in the country owned by Dr Amin Bonsu; who recently received an award from the Second Lady, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur as one of the best herbal centre’s in country.
