Odododiodoo organizes medical screening to mark Mathers’ Day

Accra, May 13, GNA Over 4,500elderly persons, mostly women, in the Odododiodoo Constituency, were screenedby a 15-member medical team from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to markMothers’ Day in Accra.

The medical screening under thetheme: I Care For You, was organized by the Member of Parliament (MP) for thearea, Mr Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, who is also the Deputy Minister of Tradeand Industry.

Nii Lantey Vanderpuye called onthe youth to emulate the selflessness of mothers, and to accord them therespect that they rightly deserve.

He commended them for playingtheir part towards national development, and urged the up and coming ones, totap from their experiences in the effort to build a Better Ghana.

Mr Daniel Nii Okai, NationalDemocratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Constituency and Chairman of theAshiedu-Keteke Sub-metro of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, commended the MPfor his efforts.

He noted that traditionally theDay had been marked with get-together and parties and said old-age comes withits own health problems, and praised Mr Vanderpuye for his concern for hisconstituents.

Nii Abbosey, Coordinator of theprogramme, thanked the MP for his efforts to improve the health conditions ofpeople in the area.

M and G Pharmaceutical Company,located in the constituency provided drugs and medicine for the exercise, whileAccra Brewery and Nestle Ghana provided soft drinks and beverages.
