Free State Stars put Ghana goalkeeper Daniel Agyei on the transfer-list

Free State Stars have placed Ghana goalkeeper Daniel Agyei on the transfer market, according to reports in the South African media on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old is among a list of high-profile players who are being cleared out following their near escape from relegation.

Ea Lla Koto recently parted ways with nine players and have put Agyei on the transfer-list, according to kickoff.com

Tshepo Motsoeneng, Mongezi Bobe, Enva Wiltwer, Anver Esterhuizen, Mthokosizi Yende, Mbuyiselo Sambu, Jurie Basie and Salmaan King are no longer on the club’s books.

“Those players are not in the coaches’ plans for next season. We felt that it is fair to release them early so that they can go search for teams,” Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena said.

“We will make sure that we replace those players with quality players. We saw what happened this season with the team and we don’t want to witness that again.”

Agyei joined the South African side at the start of the season and enjoyed a decent run at the beginning but found himself being restricted to the substitute bench.
