There Must Be A Complete Overhaul Of The Media Terrain—Prince Koffy

A national communication team member of the rulling National Democratic Congress, Prince Koffy has asked the media to be circumspect and professional with their job.

In an interview with this reporter, the young NDC communicator expressed regret at the way and manner cerrain media houses for whatever reasons choose to twist issues to create a false impression.

He made specific reference to the recent doctored tape issue during the president’s working visit to the Ashanti region.

“What at all is/are the pepetrator(s) of such diabolic agenda seeking to achieve? Mind you, the president is the face of the country and the government of the day is a government for all Ghanaians devoid of political colouration and whatever impression is created about the presidency and government, affects the general image of the country”.

“The media is the fourth estate of the realm in our democratic governance, and practioners as such must exhibit some level of professionalism since they in a way have what it takes to create a volatile environment when they misrepresent”.

Prince Koffy demanded that, since our democracy is relatively young, we must all guard against miscreant who for parochial interest have what it takes to throw this country into chaos.

He charged the major stakeholders in the media to introduce standards and measures to churn out the very best practioners into the industry who have the interest of the nation at heart.

Prince Koffy in his concluding remark charged the citizenry to also take media practioners to task and demand the very best from them since that is the surest way to entrench our developing democracy.
