World Trade Center Hosts Journalists

Togbe Afede XIV addressing the media
World Trade Center Accra (WTCA), a subsidiary of the World Trade Centres Association, a worldwide organization that was established to promote international trade, has held a special press soiree for journalists in Ghana.

The evening get-together was organized to enable the center brief journalists on its activities in the country and to highlight its tremendous contribution to the development of Ghana.

Togbe Afede XIV, Chairman of WTCA, in a welcome remark, explained that his outfit, since its inception in 2012, had contributed significantly to the promotion of international and domestic trade in the country.

According to him, WTCA had embarked on several tours around the world to purposely attract investors to Ghana, adding that ‘our last trip to Brazil saw a number of foreign businessmen calling on us to link them with local cocoa-powders producers in the country’.

Commenting on the services provided by WTCA in the country, he said WTCA provides a wide range of information necessary for successful trade transactions like trade flow statistics, business contacts and profiles of buyers and suppliers, among other things.

The Chairman of WTCA noted that his outfit would from June, 2014 offer a plethora of courses on international trade practices, both local and global.

Togbe Afede XIV further stated that the Accra branch of WTC, a USA Corporation established in 1959 and incorporated in 1969, would be hosting a 50 member international investment delegation as part of its inbound trade mission.

Meanwhile, he used the occasion to plead with members of the business community to join the WTC Club, which provides a ‘comforting setting for business networking.’
