Mahama’s Kumasi Comments…Police Warns Media & General Public

Investigations are underway to ascertain the authenticity of an alleged tape in which President Mahama is heard referring to the people of Kumasi as unappreciative by the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Government insists that the tape recording in which the president is heard making those remarks is doctored, edited by critics of his administration.

In a press statement signed for the CID Commissioner by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Joesph Darkwah, the CID said it “has initiated investigation into the matter with the view of getting the authentic tape as well as the origin of the doctored one.”

The statement therefore warned the media and general public to be circumspect in their reportage and comments.
