Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah believes the Black Stars are inching ever closer towards breaking their title drought having built a wide pool of quality players.

The Black Stars have not won anything since their last triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982.

Ghana have twice made it to the grand finale of the Nations Cup only to stutter within the past 21 years.

Many are now beginning to believe the Black Stars are under a curse and will never return to their glory days despite the massive financial incentives in modern day football.

But the ex-Ghana captain believes the Black Stars are ripe for title success once more again having been patient with the development of vast talents in recent years.

“Success don’t come easy, you need to prepare very well and build a team for it,” he told Metro TV.

“If you look at the great teams in the world they had to start from somewhere and built to become successful.

“And I believe it is something we have done and that we should be winning something soon.”
