2014 World Cup: Ghana retain 38th position on latest FIFA ranking

Ghana remained unchanged in 38th place on the FIFA ranking released for the month of May on Thursday.

The Black Stars are one of 143 teams who retained their April ranking after little activity last month.

Also, Ghana still remain the fourth best team on the continent behind Cote d’ Ivoire (21st), Egypt (24th) and Algeria (25th).

FIFA took into account just 13 matches which saw Brazil climb two places to.

It is Brazil’s best position on the global ladder since July 2011.

Spain lead and followed by European duo Germany (2nd, unchanged) and Portugal (3rd, unchanged).

Spain have now held the top spot since September 2011.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 5 June 2014.
