Police Recover Assorted Ammunitions From Vigilante Murder Suspects

Ikechukwu Aduba, the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, on Wednesday announced the arrest of a gang suspected to be responsible for the murder of two vigilante members in the state.

Speaking to journalists in Asaba, Aduba said: “Six suspected members of a gang that murdered one Prosper Erhinyojare and Godwin Migaga have been arrested”. 

“Live ammunitions and arms recovered from the gang include an AK 47 riffle, 90 rounds of 7.62mm and two locally-made short guns”

The commissioner said that the suspects committed the crime on April 17 and April 22, adding that those arrested include Eric Umukoro, Akpojotor Christian, Johnson Ogheneovo, Solomon Olo and Miss Oke Onoriode, while the remaining four members were at large. 

He hinted that police investigations revealed that the suspects killed the two men in order to instill fear into members of the community.

Aduba alleged that the gang committed the crime in order to stop residents from from giving the police information as the deceased were doing.

He urged members of the public to always give the police vital information to help curb crime in the state, and assured that the fleeing gang members would soon be brought to book.
