Philanthropist donates books to Valley View University


A Ghanaian philanthropist based in the United States of America, Professor Emeritus Osei Mensah- Aborampah, has presented assorted books worth $2,500 to the Techiman Campus of the Valley View University.

The books cover subject areas such as Statistics, African Studies, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

Prof. Mensah- Aborampah, a retired lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA, who hails from Techiman, said he would continue to make such donations to furnish the university’s library to improve teaching and learning.

He expressed optimism that the books would be used to meet the expectation of effective research by both lecturers and students at the campus.

The Rector of the Techiman Campus of the Valley View University, Pastor (Dr) Robert Osei-Bonsu, commended Prof. Mensah-Aborampah for the assistance given to the school, and advised students to make good of the library to improve  their studies and enhance their academic success.

Personalities who were present at the presentation included Mr Godfred Axolu, Municipal Director of Education, Techiman; and Mr Seth Asa Adjei, Deputy Director in charge of Quality Control, Ghana Education Service, Techiman.
