Former board secretary of Accra Hearts of Oak, Ernest Thompson has launched a blistering attack on the club’s board chairman, Togbe Afede XI for the sacking of Coach David Duncan.
The former Ashgold trainer has come under intense scrutiny from both the former directors and the supporters of the club in the local media following their abysmal campaign since the sacking Duncan.
Duncan was sacked last November after a good start of the season with just two points the league leaders. But the ace football administrator believes that, certain decisions had been taken which were obliviously wrong and which has caused the club to be where they are now in an interview on Asempa Sports.
“The cast of the matter is that why should we sack Duncan, what was the basis for sacking Duncan, at the time we were performing and had gone down and he( Duncan) had brought the club back to life !” he exclaimed.
“If we say that Duncan is difficult then they could never have worked with Jones Attuquayfio and even talk of players like Emmanuel Armah, Emmanuel Osei, Charles Allotey, the Copsons, these were difficult players we couldn’t have worked with but we managed to get the best out of them.” He added
He continued by condemning the appointment of Mohammed Polo as the head coach and believed it was political and had described Polo as incompetent looking at Hearts’ pedigree on the continent and promised the Phobia fraternity of a takeover soon despite floatation with majority shareholders.
This comes at the back of Neil Armstrong’s sack as a result of his alleged malfeasances within the club. Story by Ghana /Asempa Sports/Frank Agyam
