Bible Society Hosts International Forum

One of the topics to be tackled when the Bible Society of Ghana’s three-day high profile international forum takes off at the Accra International Conference Centre would be the challenge of corruption, indiscipline and bribery in society.

To be held under the title of African Biblical Leadership Initiative Forum (ABLI 2014), the theme for the function is ‘The Missing Factor In Leadership.’

It is expected to bring together the Executive led by President John Mahama and the Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, the Legislature, as well as a 14-member delegation from the Judiciary, led by the Chief Justice.

Renowned political, industry and church leaders from around the world in search of the missing link in Africa’s leadership will be in attendance.

The attendees will draw from the lessons the Bible offers in terms of truth and integrity, a release from the Bible Society has stated.

While the activities are being hosted by the Bible Society of Ghana, the release stated ‘it is a United Bible Societies supported project.

It is being supported by the British and foreign Bible Societies and the American Bible Society.’

One of the chief advocates and brain behind ABLI is Lord Boateng of Ghana and the UK House of Lords.

Lord Boateng is the official moderator of ABLI and will preside over the three-day forum in Ghana, the release added.

The first ABLI event took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2010 and 2011 and in Kampala, Uganda 2012. There was no ABLI in 2013. The forthcoming one is therefore the third in the series of events.

The release was signed by Rev. Erasmus Odonkor, General Secretary of the Bible Society of Ghana.
