JUST IN: Why Police Detectives Storm Satellite Towns In Abuja

Reports coming out of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, indicate that the Police headquarters in Abuja has ordered the deployment of scores of undercover operatives to satellite towns within and outside the capital city.

According to Vanguard website, the move by the Police headquarters in Abuja is to ensure that terrorists and trouble makers did not cause trouble before, during and after the World Economic Forum starting on Wednesday in Abuja.

It was gathered that officers of the Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Criminal Investigations Department and men of the counter terrorist unit dressed in mufti, have moved to satellite towns like Nyanya, Suleija, Mararaba, Gwagwalada, Abaji, Kubwa, Dei-Dei, Karmo and Dutse among others.

No fewer than 5, 000 Police officers have allegedly been mobilized to provide security cordon in the federal capital territory during the period of the World Economic Forum.

As a result, all entry points into the federal capital city have been witnessing heavy Police presence.

Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba, through a detailed Operational Order, made a statement as regards the deployment released on May 4, 2014.
