Transfer watch: Helsingborg chief in Manchester but beats down United’s interest in Accam


Helsingborg’s Sporting Director Jesper Jansson was at Manchester United over the weekend to give more credence to reports of an imminent move for Ghana striker David Accam.

The 43-year-old was at Old Trafford to see the dethroned English champions lose 1-0 to Sunderland on Saturday.

Jansson’s appearance at Old Trafford coincides with United’s reported interest in the yet-t0-be-capped Ghana youngster.

The ex Sweden international has however beat down these reports – insisting he has no idea of the reported move.

“ I do not know and do not want to think of it,” he said.

Manchester United are however sending a scout to keep close tabs on Accam in Monday’s Swedish league clash against AIK in Solna.

The 23-year-old has made a strong start in the opening games in the Swedish top flight which has seen him score four goals in six games.

Accam has caught the attention of top clubs across Europe following his consistent displays which include a wondrous finish following a 60-meter dash from deep in his own half to shoot Helsingborg into the final of the Swedish Cup.
