Sam Arday: I’ll take a respite from the coaching profession

Technical director of Feyenoord Academy Sam Arday says he has to take a break from coaching after what he describes as a hectic season for him.

Coach Arday was the brain behind Feyenoord Academy’s return to the Ghana premier league on Saturday after beating Dunkwa United 2-1 in the play-offs at the Accra stadium.

The former national team coach talks about how hectic it was getting the team to this stage

“Let me confess, I think since I started coaching I have never used my brains like in this particular middle league and I’m seriously tired and I need rest may be one week before I can think of football again,”

“Stress here and there when people tell you they are not working under pressure is either a defeatist attitude or they are not telling the truth.

“I really had to put a lot more hard work in our qualification but I think it was a collective effort, everybody played a role.”
