"Patience Didn’t Order Arrest of Chibok Girls’ Protest Leader" – Official Statement

According to official statement from Patience Jonathan’s Media Assistant, Dame Patience did not order any arrests of the leaders of the #BringBackOurGirls movement.

Mrs. Jonathan’s Media Assistant Ayo Adewuyi has issued an official statement denying media reports that Mrs. Naomi Mutah Nyadar, leader of the movement which urges the Nigerian Government to do everything possible to rescue the over 200 girls who still remain in Boko Haram captivity, has been arrested “following the orders of Mrs. Patience Jonathan”

Mr. Adewuyi said Mrs. Nyadar attended the women stakeholders’ meeting convened to discuss ways and best strategies to ensure the release of the abducted children of Chibok Girls secondary School. Women at the meeting became alarmed when someone who knew her told them she was impersonating one of the mothers of the alleged abducted children on the basis for which she attended the meeting.

The women then expressed their disappointment when she confirmed that she is not a biological mother to any of the abducted children. Mr. Nyadar left the State House with other members of the delegation.
