Ghanaian Players Abroad: Agyemang Badu, Jordan, Rabiu, on target; Derek Boateng’s Fulham relegated


It’s been quite an eventful weekend for many Ghanaian players abroad as the likes of John Antwi, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Asamoah Gyan, and Jordan Ayew were on the scoring sheet for their respective Clubs.

France
Jonathan Mensah came off the bench in the 76th minute for his Club Evian Thonon Gaillard as they lost by a lone goal to Reims. Andre Dede Ayew played the entire duration of their 4-2 win over Lyon on Sunday. His brother Jordan Ayew was on target, scoring one of the two goals for his club Sochaux as they beat Nice 2-0.

Abdul Majeed Waris played the entire duration of the game; it wasn’t enough to save his team Valenciennes from a 1-0 home defeat to Bordeaux a result that meant that they have been relegated to the French Ligue 2.

Italy
Kwadwo Asamoah‘s Juventus were automatically declared winners of the 2013/2014 Scudetto following Roma’s shock defeat to Catania on Sunday. Meanwhile Juventus play their match tomorrow against Atalanta. Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was on the target for his side Udinese on Sunday as they thrashed Alfred Duncan‘s Livorno 5-3 with the latter being substituted in the 76th minute.

Afriyie Acquah played the entire duration of the game as he helped his side record a 2-0 win over Sampdoria. Isaac Cofie came on in the 17th minute in Genoa’s goalless draw game against Bologna. Sulley Ali Muntari came off the bench in the 72nd minute to aid his side to a 1-0 win over rivals Inter Milan.

Spain
Richmond Boakye Yiadom helped his side Elche secure a 1-0 away win over Malaga, though he saw only 52 minutes of the game.

Germany

Christian Atsu played the entire duration of the match but it wasn’t enough for his side Vitesse who were beaten 2-1 by FC Utrecht.

England
It was a sad moment for midfielder Derek Boateng as his club, Fulham were relegated to the Championship even with a game to spare.

Adam Larsen Kwarasey was on the winning side after his side Stroemsgodset beat Bodoe/Glimt 2-0 on Sunday. However it was anguish for Mahatma Otoo as his side Sogndal suffered a 2-0 defeat at Lillestroem.

Samuel Afum came on in the 42nd minute for his side Young Boys but it did little to help them survive the 5-0 thrashing at Grasshoppers.

Russia
Rabiu Mohammed found the back of the net for the first time in this season’s Russian Premier League when he scored in Kuban Krasnodar’s 4-0 win over Krylua Sovetov Samara in the Russian Premier League on Saturday. The midfielder struck Kuban’s fourth and final goal of the game in the 79th minute after he replaced Lorenzo Melgarejo in the 65th minute.

Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan scored twice in Al Ain’s 2-2 draw with Al Jazira in the Arabian Gulf League on Thursday.
