Edusei Foundation Donates to Catholic Charities

Edusei Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has donated GH¢50,000 to Catholic Charities of Ghana.

The money would be used to cater for the needy in five regions, including Central, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper East and Upper West.

Presenting the cheque, Lawrence Bruce Kyei, Coordinator of the Foundation, said the donation would go a long way to help alleviate poverty in some of the regions in the country, especially in Upper East and Upper West.

He said the Foundation has supported a lot of institutions such as Father’s Home in Sekondi-Takoradi, Kumasi Children’s Home, Osu Children’s Home, Accra, Tamale Children’s Home and Missionaries of Charity Children’s Home in Mbrom, Kumasi.

Bruce Kyei reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to offer support to needy people across various communities in the country.

Rev. Fr. Nicholas Afriyie, Secretary General, Catholic Bishops Conference, who received the cheque on behalf of Catholic Charities, expressed appreciation to Edusei Foundation for the kind gesture, urging other organizations to emulate its example.

He urged management of the Foundation to relate well with the Catholic Charities to assist the needy in society.

The Edusei Foundation, which was founded by Dr. Bawuah-Edusei and his family, supports several orphanages in Ghana.

The Foundation also uses learning centers, workshops, donations and seminars to provide services geared towards educating the beneficiaries to achieve their full potential.

The mission of the foundation is to facilitate youth development in the United States, Ghana and the Diaspora in a positive manner to improve their knowledge, behavior and health.

It also collaborates with other NGO to empower women and children.
