The Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Saka Babatunde, who made this known on Sunday in llorin, said that government took the decision in order to ameliorate the loss suffered by the wife and children of the late journalist.

Babatunde said that though the late journalist hailed from Ogun, his wife and children were resident  in Ilorin.

The governor’s aide said the letter of employment had been handed over to the widow, adding that she resumed office on Friday.

Sanni, who has a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) certificate, was posted to Ilorin South Local Government Education Authority

Her late husband had served as correspondent of the defunct Daily Sketch, The Punch, Post Express and ThisDay in Kwara before his transfer to Ibadan.

The deceased was the former Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria in Kwara as well as Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Sanni died in November, 2013, after a brief illness.
