NDC Govt Will Not Neglect Any Community

Mr Adam Yussif, West Mamprusi District Chief Executive (DCE), has giving the assurance that every community would get its fair share of development, whether it is sympathetic to government or not.

He said the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama is a government for all Ghanaians.

Mr Yussif called on the citizenry to rally behind the NDC, to distribute the national cake equitably.

He told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Tamale that some people especially opposition members in the District are throwing their arms up in despair with the false impression that development is eluding the district due to the fact that NDC lost the Parliamentary seat in the area.

Mr Yussif said NDC is a government that had the interest of the people at heart and would continue to invest in them to ensure that poverty, disease and illiteracy is addressed while equitable distribution of the national cake would benefit all Ghanaians.

He said detractors of the government are refusing to see or acknowledge the infrastructure development springing up across the country including West Mamprusi.

“It is not possible that a government would deliberately refuse to provide some areas with the needed development because votes in those areas did not favour it,” he said. He said the West Mamprusi District had been one of the luckiest in the country to enjoy from the support of Central Government.

“The NDC government divided the district into two in 2012 to speed up development and has since opened a senior secondary school in Yagba and built 12 structures there for the school”.

He said a lot of other areas enjoyed improvement in infrastructure and mentioned the rehabilitation of clinics and health centres. Mr Yussif said the Kwasenkpe health centre has been upgraded and has a standby ambulance for referral cases.

He said the district has also constructed three CHPS compounds at Duo, Timburi and Nabari communities while the assembly has rehabilitated a 10-unit classroom block at Nabari and a six-classroom block and a teacher’s quarters at Sariba.

He said there are street lights along the major towns of Walewale and the Nasia highways meant to fight highway crime. Mr Yussif gave the assurance that the district would continue to embark on development drive to ensure alleviation of poverty.
