Okwawu United and their two players charged

The Ghana Football Association’s Prosecutor has charged Okwawu United and two of their players following their play-off fixture against Great Olympics at the Len Clay Stadium on 29 April 2014.

Nanabenyin Francis and Wonder Kudevor, both players, face two separate charges each of misconduct and violence as they assaulted the referee, insulted and threatened the referee with injury following incidents that happened after the match.

Both players have until 5pm on Wednesday, 7 May 2014 to respond to the charges.

Further to that, Okwawu United Football Club have been charged with three counts of misconduct and violence.

The Clubs is charged for misconduct after a section of their supporters pelted bags of water sachet at the bench of Great Olympics.

Also some of their reserve players and technical team members rushed on the match officials and some of them hit the referee resulting in the match officials being held on the field of play for about 13 minutes.
