Guinea coach Dussuyer declares Ghana favourites in 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers


Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer says Ghana are the favourites to win Group E of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier reach the tournament in Morocco.

The Sylli National were this weeks drawn in the same to face the Black Stars, Togo and a yet-to-be-determined opponent in a tough qualifying group.

Guinea along with Togo are countries who have got good quality players to threatened the overwhelming favourites Ghana.

AC Milan Kevin Constant, Spain-based Alhassane Bangoura and St Etienne star Florentin Pogba are among Guinea’s key players while boast of top players like Emmanuel Adebayor, Alaixys Romao, Serge Gakpé and goalkeeper Kossi Agassa.

Despite the presence of these top players in the Guinea and Togo squads, Dussuyer insists the Black Stars are the top team to be feared in the group.

“If you make a picture of this group, we say that Ghana is the logical favourite, while Togo and Guinea will fight to snatch second place,” Dussuyer told RFI.

“We find ourselves in a difficult group. We know that Ghana is a great nation of African football and regularly qualifies for African Cup and World Cups. This is a very strong team.

“The group also consists of Togo, who have very good individual players like Emmanuel Adebayor, Alaixys Romao, Serge Gakpé and Kossi Agassa. Togo were good during Afcon 2013.”
