Dede Is Marseille Best

Black Stars winger Dede Ayew has emerged as Olympique Marseille’s best player for the month of April, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS understands.

The skilful midfielder’s exceptional play earned him over 45 percent votes, beating team mates Andrea-Pierre 15 percent and Mathieu Valbuena 9 percent.

He translated his good play into scoring, hitting the back of the net three times, a hat-trick and provided an assist in the month under review.

Dede suffered shipwreck early this year in the Egypt-Ghana World Cup qualifier in Cairo, ruling him out for many weeks, but that did little to stifle his efforts.

The Marseille most prized asset returned more confident, playing key roles in his side’s games, attracting Premiership clubs for his signature.

The April honour is the second player of the month award for the former BBC Player of the year this year.

Gignac won it for the months of January, February and March this year. Other previous winners were Mathieu Valbuena and Florain Thauvin.
