The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chocho Industries, one of the leading herbal product manufacturers, Alhaji Mustapha Oti Boateng, last Friday evening picked the overall award as the best entrepreneur in the 4 th  UT Entrepreneur Award at the Banquet Hall of the State House.

The prestigious award ceremony, Ghana Entrepreneur Award, was in recognition of Chocho Industries’ efforts at making real change in the Ghanaian herbal manufacturing industry.

Last Friday’s award comes on the heels of last year’s Best Made in Ghana Cosmetics Award the company received following its astuteness in the manufacturing of herbal-based products.

And for his efforts, the organisers rewarded him with a certificate and a giant trophy.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Oti Boateng indicated that ‘there is no short cut to success. It’s good to have all sorts of degrees and aspire to succeed, but the surest bet is to put God in your attitude and work hard. Thank you very much for the honour done me.’

He also expressed profuse thanks to all, especially his management and all who have contributed in diverse ways for the huge success.

Recounting the genesis of the company, he stated that he started with meagre capital of GH¢ 40, operating from a kitchen so many years ago, but could now boast of many product lines including Chocho soap, shampoo,  tea, among others.

‘The capital was very little but the dream was huge because my faith tells me that Allah is sufficient for his servants,’ said Alhaji Oti Boateng.

Chocho Industries played a key role ahead of last general elections with a nationwide peace campaign, and have embarked on countless donations to companies, communities, schools and individuals.

The Managing Director of The Graphic Communication Group Limited (GCGL), Kenneth Ashigbey, who was the Guest of Honour said Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in national development enabled the public sector to harness  the expertise and efficiencies  of the private sector in the delivery of facilities and services.
