Aboabo, Asokore Mampong residents undergo medical screening

About 350 residents of Aboabo and Asokore Mampong in the Asokore Mampong municipality in the Ashanti Region have benefitted from a two-day free medical screening.

The programme was made possible through the initiative of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, the Living Waters Hospital at Ejisu and Mr Emmanuel Toboh, a bio-medical scientist at the Manhyia Government Hospital.

The beneficiaries were taken through eye and hepatitis B screening and physiotherapy treatment.

Some of the beneficiaries were referred to health facilities for further care.

The Asokore Mampong Municipal Development Officer, Mrs Mary Serwaa Adjen, lauded initiators of the programme, stressing that health and sanitation issues were crucial to human development.

The Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Nurudeen Hamidan, said the assembly was committed to promoting healthy living among the people and advised them to continuously go for medical check-ups.

He also lauded the partnership among initiators of the programme and asked other organisations to learn from the example of the initiators.
