Chiefs Are Not Idol Worshipers

The Akuapem Aburi-Atwasin Mawerehene, Nana Opare Kwarfo, has debunked the assertion that chiefs are idol worshipers.

Nana Opare Kwarfo said, there are some chiefs in the bible which God used for wonderful things.

“Can we say they are idol worshipers? Like king David and Moses and other. This people ruled their nations very well. He said, it’s sometimes unfortunate that, people tagged chiefs of that such.”

Nana noted that, chieftaincy is a highly profile status which needs direction, help from God. He then entreats all chiefs to seek God first in all that they do, and all other things will be added to them. He then charged chiefs in the nation to pray, read the bible for more directions and vision to rule there. They should also use their position to impact the lives of their people. Bring development to transform their communities.

Nana made these known when the sub chiefs of Akuapem Aburi joined the grace Presbyterian, at West Legon, Accra to celebrate the picnic day at Kokonduru.

The colourful event was attended by the Akuapem Aburi Queen mother Nana Awo Adwoa I, Otuobour Gyan Kwasi, the Aburi Manhene and others, as they prayed, dinned and danced together.

Nana Opare Kwarfo finally advised the youths of Aburi to be more discipline and desist from all deviant behaviors.

Speaking at the event, the Minister in Charge of the West Legon, Rev Professor Cephas Omenyo commended the chiefs, charged them to be united always, do their best to desist from all form of litigation’s as he urged them to meditate the word of God always.
