King Faisal have brightened their chances of a first silverware by reaching the MTN FA Cup semi-final following a 5-3 penalty victory over Aduana Stars.
Both sides needed the shoot-outs to decide the last-eight fixture at the Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday after drawing 1-1 in regulation time as Faisal played a greater part of the second half with a man less.
Aduana stormed to a 5th minute lead from the spot before the Kumasi-based side, who had Emmanuel Ampiah sent off rallied back to pull level through an injury time goal by Mohammed Alhassan.
Faisal prevailed on penalties and are now through to the last-four of the Cup competition.
The winner of the FA Cup will play in the continental competition, the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
