Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey handed WAFU U17 tourney final

Ghanaian referee Joseph O. Lamptey will handle the finals of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Under-17 football tournament, between Mali and Benin on Sunday.

Referee Lamptey, who recently officiated in the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) competition in South Africa, will be assisted by compatriot Salifu Malik and Togolese Martial Koku Tornu in the match being played in Lome.

Ago Abubakari from Nigeria, will be the fourth referee in the match that will sell the sub-regions best juvenile players.

Referee Lamptey was the middle man during the opening match of the competition between Togo and Benin.

He remains one of the leading referees in the country having officiated in high profile international matches.
