Some parts of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis were submerged after torrential rains yesterday.

According to reports, parts of Bankyease, Kwesimitsim and the Beach Road lorry station area got flooded which made it difficult for drivers and pedestrians to move freely.

The torrential rains started at about 7am and subsided at about 9:15am.

The affected areas included the Old John Sarbah Road and  Takoradi Market Circle.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that at Kansawurodu, Ntankoful and Nkotompo, residents were compelled to move to safe places.

The storm drains at the forecourt of the Arvo Hotel in Takoradi could not contain the water.

The premises of the Opportunities Industrialisation Centre, a vocational training institute, got flooded.

Residents of Nkroful Junction and Apremdo were also affected by the floods which also submerged the main road.
