Hearts do not have quality players- Ex chairman Harry Zakour

By Simon Amonoo
Former Hearts of Oak chairman Harry Zakkour says the club have a threadbare squad to compete for titles.

The club’s sorry 3-0 defeat at Hasaacas on Wednesday has dented their chances of snatching the second CAF Champions League spot by finishing second.

Questions have been raised about the quality of players registered by the club after a string of poor results this term in the Ghana Premier League.

Zakour, under whose regime Hearts won the 2000 CAF Champions League and Super Cup,

“Neil Armstrong is the manager. He should be able to know whether he has a good team or not,” Zakour told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

“We don’t have any quality player in the team. The materials of Hearts of Oak are not of good quality.”

Hearts of Oak are third on league table with 41 points; ten behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
