Suhum Student In Mystery Death

Kwame Opoku
A final year Building Construction student of Suhum Secondary Technical School (SUTESCO) writing the 2014 WASSCE has been found dead in the school.

The deceased, Kwame Opoku, 20, who suffered from Asthma, hailed from Santa Maria in Accra.

He was said to have complained of headache last Saturday night. His inhaler was beside him when he was discovered dead by the students.

Sources from the school said the deceased was not known to be asthmatic, adding that Kwame was nowhere to be found when it was raining and all the students were in their various blocks learning, over the weekend.

However, after several hours of searching for him, Opoku was found dead on the corridor of the school around 7:00pm – the cause of death unknown.

According to the sources, the deceased complained of feverishness and headache, but the house master failed to give him permission to seek medical attention.

DAILY GUIDE also gathered that the deceased did not go to the dining hall throughout that fateful day, as he was busy in the dormitory studying.

The sources disclosed that when the deceased was found dead, both the assistant headmaster and the senior house master refused to take the corpse to the mortuary. Some of the students therefore transported the body in a taxi to the Suhum Government Hospital morgue

Attempts by DAILY GUIDE to speak with the headmaster, Apostle K. K. Yeboah, proved futile, as he declined to comment on the matter.

He however told the reporter via telephone that the boy was dead and that was all he could said.
