President John Dramani Mahama has mentioned on his Facebook wall that he has made available GH¢10 million as seed money for the youth in the country who are ready to set up small and medium-scale enterprises.

According to the President, the offer stems from his desire to promote the patronage of products made by Ghanaian entrepreneurs.

He called on young entrepreneurs to be determined and creative in their work since the future of the country ‘belongs to the brave and bold.’

‘I have made available GH¢10 million to enable the youth to start up small and medium-scale businesses. I call upon you, young entrepreneurs: if you have a plan and if you are determined to make your ideas come to life, please seize this opportunity. The future belongs to the brave and bold,’ he posted on his Facebook page.

For some months now, President Mahama has stressed the need for all Ghanaians to support and patronize made-in-Ghana products to help boost the country’s economy.

He did not specify whether the money was his personal donation to the youth.

He also failed to disclose the government agencies that would offer the money to the youth.

It is also uncertain whether it would take the form of a business loan or grant, and moreover the criteria for accessing the funds were not disclosed.
