Aboabo (E/R), April 23, GNA – The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Julius Debrah has inaugurated the Odomankoma Ahenfie Tourist Site, at Aboabo, a village near Begoro in the Fanteakwa District.

The tourist site is made up of rocks, which have naturally been carved into different shapes like oware, blackboard, earthenware bowl, wooden crusher Tapoli foot print, and a lot of wonderful shapes which make the place, a very interesting site.

Inaugurating the site, Mr Debrah said the rocks had a history of healing when touched by the sick.

The Regional Minister urged the people not to enjoy the artistic beauty of the rocks alone but also take advantage of the healing powers.

He said the Region is endowed with more tourists sites, which needed to be developed into modern sites to attract more tourists, to generate revenue for the development of the area.

The District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa, Mr Abass Fusseni Sbaabe said the district has numerous tourists sites including eight waterfalls and urged the people to visit these places to make them popular.

He commended the Regional Minister for making the Kwahu Paragliding festival very popular, and appealed to him to use his experience in tourism to help develop tourists sites in the District.

Osabarimah Awuah Kotoko II, Chief of Begoro and Benkumhene of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, when tourist sites in the country are developed it would generate huge revenue to support the development agenda of the country.
